Everyone longs to be healthy, happy and to feel harmony in their life. Perhaps only that which we define success trumps these three things by which we measure what it means to live “a good life”. Yet even though we understand the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle, our busy modern culture often makes doing so a challenge, sabotaging even our best of intentions.

Many of us do, but the world is changing, and getting faster and infinitely more complex than ever.
From hectic family life to our busy professions, we multi-task our way through life, juggling schedules and responsibilities that we once thought unimaginable. Even the smallest and most precious quiet moments have all but vanished, while perpetually engaged in thought or action through email, text messaging, and the explosion of social media. In our hyper-connected, 24/7, non-stop culture, even everyday work and living now consume more and more of our time. Unless we create it, there is never any downtime.

Some say we’re a culture that wants it all--or at least as much as we can get.
But can we really have it all and still live a balanced life?
Despite the challenges the answer is astoundingly “Yes”. Finding balance in life is something that is well within everyone’s reach--we simply need to recognize what it means to find balance.
Our lives are made up of a vast interconnected web of many vital areas--personal, professional, emotional, spiritual, and more. If any one of these vital areas of life is neglected we begin to feel imbalance. Every area is important. If we neglect our health and happiness and focus all of our attention on our work, then we suffer the consequences. As the saying goes, “money can’t buy you happiness”—and it certainly can’t buy you health.
In truth, we’ve all been taught to seek financial wealth as the ultimate symbol of success, and while crafting a balance between our careers and personal lives can be our biggest challenge, true balanced living goes well beyond that. Balanced living means a harmonious integration of all aspects of our life. It is a delicate equilibrium of our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing as a whole.
Some say that our body balance is a metaphor for our life balance. Just stand on one leg, close your eyes, and see if you wobble.
When we create a balanced life, the stresses of modern living dissolve more quickly. We feel calmer, more grounded, happier and more inspired.
