Natural Principles of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oils
Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil has an explosive unending collection of applications. It’s known as the go to Essential Oil for nearly every system in the body.
Botanical Name: Cinnamomum ceylanicum
Botanical Family: Lauraceae (laurel)
Extraction Method: Steam distilled from bark.
Historical Traditional Uses
Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the bark of the Cinnamon Verum tree. It has been cherished since deep antiquity. It was known as a gift of the gods. It was highly treasured among ancient nations and given as an esteemed and honored gift for monarchs.
Cinnamon is widely used both as a spice and as a traditional medicine. It is perhaps one of the oldest herbal medicines, having been mentioned in the Bible (Exodus, Proverbs
and Song of Songs) and in Chinese texts more than 4,000 years ago. Moses included it as an ingredient of the holy anointing oil. The Chinese knew it as Gui Zhi and recommended it for its
antibacterial and antipyretic properties.
One of the oldest recorded uses of Cinnamon is in ancient Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India, which used Cinnamon to
support the immune and respiratory systems.
Cinnamon was also recorded in the Ebers Papyrus, one of the oldest Egyptian medical texts on record. Ebers Papyrus dates to about 1,550 BCE and contains over 700 remedies
on nearly any ailment--from removing excessive bile to techniques for embalming.
Medicinal use of Cinnamon was also recorded in Chinese formulations as early as 2,700 BCE.
The source of Cinnamon has always been wrapped mystery by the middlemen who handled the spice trade, protecting their monopoly as suppliers in the Mediterranean world for centuries.
Cinnamon was listed in one of Europe’s most recognized guides in medicine, Diorsocrides De Materia. This became the prevailing reference work for herbal treatment for over
1,700 years
In ancient Greek culture, there is an inscription record of a gift of Cinnamon to the temple of Apollo at Miletus dated 1,400 BCE.
Cinnamon, the herb with boundless medicinal uses, features prominently in all traditional medicines. Long established and widely sanctioned, Cinnamon has been used in many cultures for treating a variety of
health disorders, including diarrhea, arthritis, menstrual cramps, heavy menstruation, yeast infections, colds, flu, and digestive problems.
Cinnamon has been accredited for centuries with providing rapid relief of bladder and urinary tract infections, digestive tract issues, as well as enzymatic deficiency in the gut. It was highly acknowledged
and used as a powerful anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-infectious, anti-viral, and antifungal agent. It’s been used to relieve upset stomach and gas, diarrhea, rheumatism, kidney ailments, and abdominal pain.

Cinnamon Bark attracts wealth and financial prosperity by decoding core beliefs of limitations and stagnation, while recoding and reprogramming core beliefs for wealth and financial prosperity.
It brings awareness to the dysfunctional belief that’s programmed in the cells that it’s acceptable to accept abuse, be dependent on others and have addictions.
Cinnamon Bark is motivating and transformational. It’s great for people who want to change their belief systems or their old imprinted patterns.
It assists in releasing memories held deep in the unconsciousness of physical abuse, about being captive, held against our will, owned, enslaved in any way, whether it is this life or a past life.
Science • Cinnamon • Alzheimer’s Disease
According to Roshni George and Donald Graves, scientists at UCSB's Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, "Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia,
a neurodegenerative disease that progressively worsens over time as it kills brain cells. No cure has yet been found, nor has the major cause of Alzheimer's been identified.”
“However, two compounds found in Cinnamon, cinnamaldehyde and epicatechin are showing some promise in the effort to fight the disease.”
According to George and Graves, the compounds have been shown to prevent the development of the filamentous "tangles" found in the brain cells that characterize Alzheimer's.
Responsible for the assembly of microtubules in a cell is a protein called tau, and it plays a large role in the structure of the neurons as well as their function.
"The problem with tau in Alzheimer's is that it starts aggregating," according to George. When the protein does not bind properly to the microtubules that
form the cell's structure, it has a tendency to clump together, she explained, forming insoluble fibers in the neuron. The older we get the more susceptible we are to these twists and
tangles. Alzheimer's patients develop them more often and in larger amounts.
The use of cinnamaldehyde, the compound responsible for the bright, sweet smell of Cinnamon, has proven effective in preventing the tau knots. By protecting tau from
oxidative stress, the compound, an oil, could inhibit the protein's accumulation, a factor that contributes to the development of Alzheimer's.
Science • Cinnamon • Brain – Optimizing Brain Cells after Traumatic Brain Injury- Stroke
Brain swelling is a condition in which fluid either accumulates within brain cells or is retained in blood vessels that form around brain cells.
According to the scientists the underlying mechanisms that cause cell swelling in a stroke are not clearly understood but may be due in part to a membrane within brain cells not working
properly.
In a study conducted by Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists at the United States Department Agriculture
(USDA), entitled Effect of Cinnamon Compounds on Brain Cells, was conducted to research how chemical compounds in Cinnamon affect brain cells. The researchers have reported findings that the
Cinnamon compounds studied prevented isolated brain cells from swelling, one of the many abnormal conditions resulting from traumatic brain injury and stroke due to impaired blood flow to the
brain.
Science • Cinnamon • Brain – Regulating Ammonia Levels Protecting Brain & Nervous System
Ammonia is naturally occurring substance that is also produced in the human body. It is commonly found in nature, however high concentrations of ammonia found in industrial use can be extremely
toxic, negatively affecting the body and causing damage to the brain and nervous system.
The National Institute of Health describes a metabolite as a, "Substance produced during metabolism (digestion or other bodily chemical processes). Sodium Benzoate is a metabolite of
Cinnamon that helps regulate ammonia levels and protects the brain and nervous system.
University of Maryland Medical Center states, "Sodium benzoate, a metabolite of Cinnamon, helps regulate
the levels of ammonia in your blood and prevents it from becoming too high.
Science • Cinnamon • Brain – Preventing Age Related Neurological Disorders
Cinnamon is metabolized into sodium benzoate. Eating Cinnamon significantly elevates the level of sodium benzoate in your brain. A recent report in the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology
by researchers from Rush University Medical School in Chicago found that sodium benzoate has many important positive effects upon brain function and that eating Cinnamon may prevent a variety
of age-related neurological disorders.
According to Gary L. Wenk, Ph.D., author of Your Brain on Food, studies
show that the sodium benzoate produced in the body after eating Cinnamon induces significant increases in the levels of a variety of chemicals in the brain called neurotrophic factors.
These factors stimulate the birth of new neurons in the brain and encourage the survival of existing neurons. These two processes are critical for the maintenance of a healthy brain.
During the past decade many scientific studies have discovered that these neurotrophic factors can prevent, or greatly slow the progression of, a variety of degenerative diseases of the brain,
including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Translating this knowledge has been a challenge because it is not easy to get neurotrophic factors into the brain; they do not cross the blood brain barrier and are quite unstable in the
body. Thus, simply taking a pill containing neurotrophic factors is not an option. A far better option is to induce the production of these factors within the brain by administering a
natural medicinal such as Cinnamon—which unlike pharmaceutical drugs is completely safe and also tasty. This is another good reason that I suggest taking QDNA® Quantum DNA Acceleration®
100% Pure ‘Grade A’ Medical Therapeutic Cinnamon Essential Oil orally.
Science • Cinnamon • Brain – Increased Alertness – Reducing Fatigue
Dr. Bryan Raudenbush, Director of Undergraduate Research and Associate Professor of Psychology at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV recently led a
study regarding Cinnamon and peppermint and driving. This study builds on Dr. Raudenbush's past research,
which indicated the odors of peppermint and Cinnamon enhance motivation, performance, and alertness, decrease fatigue, and serve as central nervous system stimulants.
The study showed that the scent of peppermint or Cinnamon may keep a person more alert and decrease their frustration when they’re behind the wheel.
It revealed that both Cinnamon and peppermint led to increased ratings of alertness and lowers frustration. Cinnamon also decreased drivers’ fatigue ratings.
Dr. Raudenbush stated, "The odor of peppermint or Cinnamon while driving may produce a more alert and conscientious driver, and minimize the fatigue associated with prolonged driving.
In general, prolonged driving led to increased anger, fatigue, and physical demand, and decreased vigor. However, fatigue ratings were decreased in the Cinnamon condition.
Both Cinnamon and peppermint administration led to increased ratings of alertness in comparison to the no-odor control condition over the course of the driving scenario. Periodic
administration of these odors over long term driving may prove beneficial in maintaining alertness and decreasing highway accidents and fatalities."
Science • Cinnamon • Cancer
The study published by the School of Life Sciences and Immune Synapse Research Center, at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea
found that Cinnamon extract induces tumor cell death through inhibition of NFkappaB and AP, protein complexes that control
transcription of DNA.
The abstract states that "Cinnamomum cassia bark is the outer skin of an evergreen tall tree belonging to the family Lauraceae, containing several active components such as essential oils
(cinnamic aldehyde and cinnamyl aldehyde), tannin, mucus and carbohydrate. They have various biological functions including anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-inflammation, anti-diabetic
and anti-tumor activity."
The results of the study state, "Cinnamon extract strongly inhibited tumor cell proliferation in vitro and induced active cell death of tumor cells by up-regulating pro-apoptotic molecules
while inhibiting NFkappaB and AP1 activity and their target genes such as Bcl-2, BcL-xL and surviving. Oral administration of Cinnamon extract in melanoma transplantation model significantly
inhibited tumor growth with the same mechanism of action observed in vitro."
The conclusion, "Our study suggests that anti-tumor effect of Cinnamon extracts is directly linked with enhanced pro-apoptotic activity and inhibition of NFkappaB and AP1 activities and their
target genes in vitro and in vivo mouse melanoma model. Hence, further elucidation of active components of Cinnamon extract could lead to development of potent anti-tumor agent or complementary
and alternative medicine for the treatment of diverse cancers."
